Murata’s Thai plant has been completed

Apple supplier, Japanese electronic parts manufacturer Murata Manufacturing Co., Thailand plant has been completed, will start production in November, this is Murata’s first production of MLCC in Thailand, is expected to invest tens of billions of yen to the plant can reach full capacity in 2028.

Murata President Norihiro Nakajima said at the opening ceremony of the Thai plant that the plant will provide 2,000 jobs and that he believes in the long-term growth of capacitors. Although the most advanced MLCCS will still be manufactured at Murata’s Japanese plant, other MLCCS in China and the Philippines are now ramping up production. The establishment of the new plant in Thailand is designed to ensure a stable supply of global customers.

According to news reports, a smartphone may have 1,000 tiny MLCC patch capacitors; Murata accounts for nearly 50% of the global market for high-voltage MLCCS used in vehicles, while tens of thousands of MLCCS may be used in each high-end electric vehicle. 40% of Murata’s revenue comes from MLCC.
